1. Department of Samhita, Siddhant & Sanskrit
“The Gateway to Ancient Wisdom”
The Department of Samhita, Siddhant & Sanskrit serves as the intellectual cornerstone of Ayurvedic education. Since the foundational texts of Ayurveda—the Brihattrayi (Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya)—are written in Sanskrit, proficiency in this ancient language is not merely an academic requirement but a clinical necessity.
- Sanskrit & Vyakaran: Our department ensures that students master Sanskrit grammar (Vyakaran) and phonetics. This enables them to chant Shlokas with precision and decode the deep, layered meanings of original manuscripts without relying solely on translations.
- Padartha Vigyan (Fundamental Philosophy): Ayurveda is not just a system of medicine; it is a philosophy of living. This section introduces students to the Darshanas (philosophical schools), the concept of Pramana (epistemology/methods of knowledge), and the evolution of the universe (Srishti Utpatti).
- Maheshwar Sutras & Logic: By teaching the logical frameworks of ancient India, we prepare students to think critically and apply Ayurvedic principles to modern health challenges.
The mission of this department is to ensure that every student graduates with the ability to interpret the “Siddhants” (fundamental truths) that remain unchanged even after thousands of years.
